How do I get a claim number?

Claim numbers are issued by the insurance company at the time you report your incident. Write the claim number down (as well as the name and number of the person you spoke to) and bring it in with you to start the repair process. Your advisor can assist you with the rest.

 

Will my car be the same as before the accident?

Yes, The Color Works Inc. will repair your vehicle to manufacturer specifications.

 

How long will the repair take?

There are many variables in the repair process, like parts availability, amount and severity of damage. The Color Works Inc. has an average repair time of 4.5 days. Some repairs can be done on the same day while extensive repairs may take longer, your advisor will be able to give a better estimate upon inspection of your vehicle.

 

Can I get a rental car?

If you need a rental car, we can help make the necessary arrangements. Insurance companies will pay for a rental if you are the claimant or have rental coverage on your insurance policy. In most cases insurance companies will pay the rental car companies directly, in some cases they will reimburse you for the cost. Check with your insurance company to be sure you have rental coverage and what your rental limits are.

 

Can you save my deductible?

No, your deductible amount is an agreement between you and the insurance company when the policy was purchased--as the portion of the claim you would be responsible for. Shops willing to waive deductibles generally do not repair the vehicle completely to recoup the cost.  Are you willing to risk your family's safety caused by an incomplete repair?

 

Who do I pay my deductible to?

You will pay your deductible to The Color Works Inc. when you pick up your vehicle after repairs are completed.

 

What forms of payment do you accept?

The Color Works Inc. accepts cash, debit card, credit card (Visa, MasterCard), money orders and checks (no greater than $250).  A 3% surcharge will be added for credit card transactions over $500.

 

Will it cost more to have my car repaired at The Color Works Inc.?

No, The Color Works Inc. uses a standardized estimating system based on flat rate labor costs utilized by most insurance companies and repair facilities. There may be cost differences from the estimate due to damage that was not visible before the disassemble process or incomplete estimating practices by other shops and insurance adjusters. One of our advisors can explain the differences.

 

Will the new paint match the rest of the car?

Yes, at The Color Works Inc. we use a computerized paint match system and mix all our colors in house using the latest in waterborne base coats to achieve a high accuracy in color match.

 

Will my repair be reported to Carfax?

No, at The Color Works Inc. your repairs and repair records are strictly confidential and are not shared to anyone without the permission of the owner.

 

Can I get other work done while my vehicle is in the shop for repair?

Yes, The Color Works offers many services beyond collision repair and most of these services can be done while your vehicle is already here. Just ask your advisor so they can make necessary arrangements.

 

What would make my car a total loss?

Total losses are determined by the insurance company. An automobile is typically considered a total loss if it's repair exceeded 70% of the ACV (Actual Cash Value), this can vary between different insurance company.

 

Does The Color Works Inc. offer a warranty on repairs?

The Color Works Inc. offers a limited lifetime warranty on repairs to your vehicle as long as you own the car. Most of our parts suppliers warranty their parts for 90 days or longer while our paint supplier offers a lifetime warranty on their products.
