Original Equipment Manufacturer--an organization that makes devices from component parts bought from other organizations


Freon - In the past freon was used as the refrigerant for your air conditioning system which contains CFC's, a chemical known in depleting the ozone layer.


A replacement for freon. Used in all the current automobiles as the refrigerant in your air conditioning systems.

These parts are O.E.M. parts that have been cleaned, disassembled and have had the parts that wear out replaced.

Parts made for your car by companies other than the original manufacturer.


Total Loss

When the cost of repair reaches or exceeds the percentage of vehicle value set by the insurer.

Usually the percentage is 70%; however, varies with insurance companies and is not determined by The Color Works Inc.


Option to OEM

An original equipment manufacturer part that a supplier was able to price match to an after market part cost to fit within an insurance policy contract.

The person who is claiming the incident on another person's insurance.

Parts that wear out over time and use are subject to betterment when they are replaced in the repair process :example, tires, battery, struts, windshield. These charges are determined by the insurance company and are pro-rated based on vehicle mileage and wear limits.
